About Black Sheep

Welcome to our home interior, gifting and customised accessories store. We always dreamt of creating our very own online hub with a stylish, exciting and individual mix of some of our favourite home décor pieces.

I come from a home fragrance background working for a well known home fragrance brand and collaborating with some of the biggest UK and international businesses and stores. My partner has a wealth of interior design experience and has been responsible for designing some well know hotels and worked for some very high profile clients. Together we wanted to create our dream, using a plethora of experience and knowledge, we have created a hub to showcase and share in one place.

We carefully curated our portfolio of products using our wealth of experience. We have tried to work with small independent brands as much as possible, to help support small businesses just like ourselves. We have a vision to take the shop international, I have been lucky enough to travel the world visiting some incredibly fascinating places and experiencing their local culture. It has always been a passion to share my experiences, we will do this by adding limited edition items to our store from our travels around the world.

My partner has a strong background of working with children, as well as having our own little rascals. So, having a portfolio of children's products was always something we must add to our store. We have a beautiful selection of children and baby accessories and must haves.

Blacksheep UK – where did this name come from?
Quite honestly, once we came up with the idea of the business, we needed a name. After trying random name generators, searching google etc etc we weren’t having too much luck. Until one day my parter said “I don’t think you will like it but what about Blacksheep?” I liked it initially but didn’t understand where it came from and why she picked this name of all names… My partner often jokes that she is the black sheep of her family, not following the trend and being individual. To which she shares with our children that it is ok being different to everybody else and not necessarily following a trend, just being individual. Once I heard the meaning behind the name it was set, done, this is our name and our brand.

Once we had created our name, ethos, collection and idea next came the logo. With a name such as Blacksheep, the logo is self-explanatory, I sat down with our daughter and set to work on the iPad creating a logo. It didn’t take long until we designed our perfect logo. Encompassing the BlackSheep, with our ‘child’ style writing keeping it stylish but very simple, we were nearly done. Just one final touch from my partner, a red heart for a nose, it’s complete. We hope you agree it is a cool logo, the perfect culmination of professionalism and child’s play. We will be customising items with this brand logo as limited edition pieces so please keep and eye out.

Despite having a wealth of experience within the industry, starting our own business and online shop is all very new to us. It has taken a lot of hard graft, sleepless nights and stress pulling it all together, however we are incredibly proud with what we have created. It is a start, so please bear with us, we will be hopefully evolving the store with you and we cannot wait to share our passion with you. We do hope you like what we have put together.
