We are Mark and Claire and are the people behind Paper High. Paper High was born out of our love of travelling. We have travelled far and wide but it's Asia that we have taken to our hearts. In 1998 we set off on a year long round-the-world trip ‐ three years later we were still having an incredible time and were heading for a life-changing experience. An unexpected change in destination and an unexpected, extended, stay in Kathmandu and a chance meeting with a paper maker making beautiful products sowed the seed of an exciting business idea. We returned from our trip with two boxes of handmade journals and photo albums ‐ the start of the Paper High empire! We set up a stall at the famous Camden Market, in London UK, and tried and tested our products, gaining a valuable understanding of our customers along the way. We found that people loved the unique quality of our handmade books as much as we did and our business has grown from there. Further travels have led to us finding more great Fair Trade suppliers in India, Nepal and in Sri Lanka too, including our elephant dung paper producer! Now we have created a sustainable giftware business, where every product has been lovingly made using Fair Trade hands and we ensure that we give back to the communities that created our amazing products.
